Paint and Sip Watercolor with Tom Sellas
Join acclaimed oil painter artist Tom Sellas for a delightful afternoon of artistic exploration! Enlichenment 101: An Introduction to the Lichens Around Us
In the evening lecture, learn what lichens are, what makes them so special, how they benefit people and ecosystems, and get to know some common lichens found in the Sacramento region.
During the field study, we will look for these common lichens at the preserve and learn about ways to identify them.
Speaker Biography: Allie Weill is an ecologist, science writer, and lichenology instructor. She has a PhD in Ecology from UC Davis. She teaches Lichens of the Bay Area at Merritt College and has co-led lichen workshops since 2018.

Field Study – Saturday, June 15 @ 9am – 12pm (19 max – Nature Study Area trails)
