As a nature center and educational hub dedicated to enriching lives through environmental education and conservation, the American River Natural History Association (ARNHA) and the Effie Yeaw Nature Center (EYNC) are committed to fostering diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) in all aspects of our work.

By centering and uplifting historically marginalized and oppressed communities, we can create more accessible and equitable environmental education opportunities, address environmental injustice, and inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

We are committed to transforming our policies, training, and organizational structures to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for our employees, volunteers, and visitors.

Externally, we are dedicated to increasing accessibility in our facilities and programs to ensure that everyone, regardless of background or identity, can participate fully in our offerings. This includes providing access to low-income individuals through our expanded scholarship programs and offering modified visiting hours for people with sensory access needs.
