Collecting or harvesting natural elements from the Nature Study Area (NSA) is prohibited per The American River Parkway Plan NSA Guidelines.

Fish and Nuts are used in some of our programs in public spaces.

Wildlife

We Are Not a Wildlife Rescue. We are not permitted to receive injured animals. Please call 311 if you need assistance.

Do not feed wildlife. It is harmful to them and they can become harmful to visitors when they become dependent on humans.

Trails

We practice "Leave No Trace." Please tread carefully, stay on the trails, and pack everything out.

Unscheduled Groups
-
Groups without a scheduled program are welcome to explore the Nature Center and Nature Study Area after 1:00 pm. Walk-in groups are subject to County Park entrance fees: $8 per vehicle ($11 on holidays and holiday weekends) or $30 per bus. In accordance with the American River Parkway Plan, trail groups must be limited to 20 people or fewer. Please call ahead to register your visit as a walk-in group.

Finding Us
Effie Yeaw Nature Center is located inside the Ancil Hoffman County Park:
2850 San Lorenzo Way (off Tarshes Dr)
Carmichael CA 95608.
The San Lorenzo entrance to Ancil Hoffman Park is permanently locked and the only way to enter the Effie Yeaw Nature Center by car is from Tarshes Drive and California Avenue.

Parking
EYNC Members and Sacramento County Park Pass holders enjoy free parking.
A $8 Daily Parking Pass is available for purchase at the self-pay station in the parking lot near near the park entry kiosk.
