Local experts lecture on topics from flora and fauna, to conservation and geology, entomology and more. Many lectures include a guided walk or field study on the same day or on a follow-up date.

Join Amy Chance - California Naturalist and Effie Yeaw docent - for a meditative exploration of our woodland along the American River. Dive into the deep connections found in the natural world, one relaxing step at a time.

Please bring water and comfortable walking shoes.

About your speakers

Amy earned a certificate as a California naturalist through the University of California and a certificate in horticultural therapy from the Horticultural Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado. She serves as a docent at Effie Yeaw Nature Center, leading elementary school children on nature hikes in the preserve.
