Effie Yeaw Nature Center Welcomes Visitors

During Road Work at Ancil Hoffman Park

NatureFest is June 8 — Map Available for Parking and Access

The Effie Yeaw Nature Center remains open and active during road and parking improvements at Ancil Hoffman Park—and visitors are encouraged to keep coming!

Sacramento County Regional Parks is conducting a major road repaving and accessibility upgrade project that will temporarily close Ancil Hoffman Park to general vehicle traffic. But this important construction will not stop NatureFest, summer camps, or regular programs at the Nature Center.

Nature Center programs are continuing as scheduled, and we are open throughout construction. Special visitor parking has been set aside in the field across from the Nature Center and will be clearly marked. A parking and access map for
NatureFest 2025 is now available at www.effieyeawnature.org to help guests navigate the temporary layout (also posted below).

“Even with road work underway, we’re open and looking forward to welcoming families, students, and nature lovers of all ages,” said Rachael Cowan, Associate Executive Director of the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. “Please don’t let the construction keep you from joining us. NatureFest and our summer camps are going strong!”

NatureFest 2025 is set for Sunday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature live animal shows, hands-on STEAM activities, local exhibitors, food trucks, and more. Parking is free and will be directed to the designated field lot just across from the Nature Center.

Summer Camps are also underway and enrolling now. These popular camps get kids outside to explore the American River Parkway, meet wildlife up close, and discover nature through games, crafts, and adventure.

Visitors are encouraged to use caution when entering the park during construction and follow all posted signs. Full vehicle access to Ancil Hoffman Park is expected to resume in August.
