In the late 60s and early 70s, the popular press was filled with apocalyptic predictions on the demise of society as a result of uncontrolled human population growth.  Now we are hearing the opposite, population collapse will be the end of society.  In this two-lecture series, we explore what happened to shift from gross over population to terminal under population.  Part 1 focuses on why the “population bomb” never went off.  Part 2 will discuss the societal implications of population decline.



Speaker Bio: Greg Dewey retired to Sacramento after a lifelong career as a faculty member and administrator in a number of colleges and universities.  He and his wife, Cindy, came to Sacramento in 2022 to be near family.
