About the event
Join Oak Hollow Photography's Erik Johnson and Effie Yeaw Nature Center staff to witness the stunning rise of the Harvest Moon. The event will begin in our Assembly Building for a short 15-minute presentation about The Fall Rut of Black-tailed deer on the American River. Following the presentation will be a hike through our Nature Study Area in search of bucks at sunset. At 6:49pm, the Harvest Moon will rise from the east over the American River Parkway. After the walk, we will return to the Assembly Building for refreshments.
Enjoy a hot cup of tea or apple cider after a brisk stroll celebrating the first full moon of the Autumn Equinox. Connect with the natural world with fellow nature lovers while discovering the beauty of the Nature Study Area at dusk.
